October is a special month if you’re in the business of Cyber Security. Cyber Security Awareness Month has businesses across the globe taking part in various events focused on raising cyber awareness for both corporate companies and individuals.
Those in the US will currently be embracing the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) campaign, which is observed every October and backed by the US Government to ensure that American businesses and citizens have the resources they need to stay secure online.
Europe’s Cyber Security Awareness Month (ESCM) is Europe’s flavour of Cyber Awareness campaign and is also held in October of each year. The UK is involved in this year’s ESCM – but only just! Who knows, after 31st October this year the UK Government or the National Cyber Security Centre may declare the UK’s very own Cyber Awareness Month.
But whether, you’re American, European, British or other, Cyber Security is a shared responsibility and cyber security breaches are very much a global problem.
MFG’s commitment to Cyber Awareness
Our key objective this month is to help raise awareness of cyber security threats and promote good cyber security processes amongst businesses and individuals – and not just our own clients – we invite new UK based businesses along for the ride too.
Until the end of October, MFG are offering new and existing clients a free phishing campaign and/or a free external vulnerability scan – designed to test both your technical and human resilience to cyber security threats. (OFFER NOW ENDED)
MFG are also offering instant and invaluable access to their cyber security team, who are GCHQ certified GDPR Practitioners and ISO 27001 Foundation certified. If you have any questions about promoting or maintaining cyber awareness in your workplace, gaining your Cyber Essentials accreditation or any other cyber security related questions – the MFG team is on hand to advise on the best tools and provide resources to protect yourselves online, through education and sharing of best practices.
