Onsite Support Engineer

Our Onsite Support Engineers provide front line (on premise) IT support to customers, ensuring that onsite calls for support are dealt with promptly and appropriately.

Our Engineers undertake a variety of IT related projects. Day to day tasks can include, installing and configuring PCs, servers and associated peripherals and software, as well as providing basic end-user training and liaising with suppliers and vendors.

Knowledge in the following areas is required: Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products, knowledge and experience working with computer hardware. This includes all aspects of building a computer from the card level up.

MFG’s Onsite Support Engineers must have a full clean driving licence as driving to and from clients is required.

General Description of Position

• Attend client sites to support, install and replace equipment.
• Provide front line IT support to customers.
• Ensure that calls for support are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
• Install and configure PCs, servers and associated peripherals and software.
• Undertake a variety of IT related projects.
• Provide basic end user training.
• Liaise with supplier and vendors on the companies and/or end-user’s behalf.
• Maintain users in the phone system (training provided).
• Maintain phone system extensions, this includes updating the web site, and any documentation
distributed to staff (training provided)
• Install and support phone units (training provided).
• Box and document mobile phone orders (training provided).
